Today, instead of posting a recipe, I’m going to share some pictures and invite y’all to come for a little hike with me 🙂
Jay has found a favorite fishing spot near where the Sturgeon River meets up with the North Sasketchewan River just a few miles up the road from where we live, and there are some trails nearby that he thought would be neat to explore. I’m lucky to have a husband who loves stomping around hiking and exploring as much as I do. So last night after supper we decided to go out for a wander. It was a beautiful evening, warm in the sun, but as you can see from our jackets, very cool in the shade. Here’s our hike in pictures:
Walking down to the river valley:
The Sturgeon River. It’s actually more like a creek in the section we walked along, it was very shallow. We found lots of clam shells around.
We thought this was neat, but we weren’t sure what animal had made it. A beaver?

And that was our outdoor adventure! I really am lucky to live where I do and to have these wonderful places nearby to go to. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook all the great places near our own backyards. Now that summer’s almost here, it’s the perfect time to get out and do some exploring! I know I will be 🙂
